"What's in a Name?"

The title is a quote from William Shakespeare in Romeo and Juliet. So what's in a name or a trail name?  Trail names are adopted by those who long distance hike. It has been a practice for decades. At the end of the day, we're all hiking the same trail, walking the same walk, climbing the same mountains. It doesn't matter what your real name is, where you live, what your career is. Now, of course, that can all be shared as you go. It's a traveling community.
So, our trail names? Decaf and One Step. If you know Dale, that name is self-explanatory!  My name has a double meaning to me. First, it's one step at a time. That's all I need to think about. Just one step more to get there. Secondly, one step then 5 million more!  That's how many steps from beginning to end!

This is Beep's mother, and I am following you on your hike. Your blog (the little that I've seen), is interesting and well written.
I want to friend you on facebook (I've already made a friend request with Dale) and I cannot find your first name to send you a friend request. You can make it simple if you want - just request me as a friend (donnaguptoncoffield). Thanks
