To start where we left off...
We picked up the BC (what we call our Big Country RV)in Knoxville on the 13th. We then stayed on the dealer's lot for Sat/Sun nights to get used to everything and how it worked. We were able to go to church with Butch and Karen of RV's for less and had a great time of worship. It was a bonus to know that we bought our RV from a dealership that supports various ministries here and abroad.
On Monday, Sam went through the PDI (pre-delivery inspection) with us and answered all our questions. It started to drizzle, and by the time we pulled out with the BC in tow, it was dark and really raining.
We were headed to Pigeon Forge for 2 evenings, which was only about 45 min. away. It was the first time to be on the road for any kind of distance. After arriving at Creekside RV (which I recommend), it was interesting backing into the site for the first time, then unhooking from the truck, and plugging in, using a penlight flashlight...(don't ask). Still raining, we were soaked.
Mission accomplished! The RV was angled correctly on the site and we didn't wake the neighbors.
After spending a couple evenings, we headed back to Raleigh to get our stuff. It all fit! I was wondering about my kitchen stuff but it all has a place and works great for us! We were able to see just a few friends while there, and we miss all of you.
We headed back here to Florida and arrived on the 22nd. We are in the Vacation Village RV park (Largo) for now. It is great being close to family for the time being. Our daughter from Raleigh arrived 2 days after we got here, and we took her to the airport this afternoon. It has been non-stop fun and hanging out with her and her sisters, and all the rest of the family. Our Thanksgiving was great. Now back to normal life, right? At least until Christmas!
Our next post will include pictures of the inside of our home. All 375 square feet of it!
We are sending out resumes to various campgrounds and I will keep you posted on that.
All is well.
