About 2-3 weeks ago, I had a rude awakening. The first thing I heard that morning was "There's a squirrel in here!" I jumped out of bed and by that time the squirrel had disappeared. Dale had been sitting drinking coffee and saw some movement on the RV floor and there it was. We still do not know how it got in and have looked everywhere for an opening.
Our first clue that something was amiss was a tomato that had a bite out of it. Although, at the time, I thought maybe the tomato had gotten dropped or something. (It was on the counter) Then when we had the squirrel sighting the next morning, I knew. What to do?
We decided to go get a humane trap/cage and put an apple in it to catch the culprit. And sure enough, it worked. We set the cage before work, left the RV, and returned to find one frantic animal in the cage. Now it was time for the release. Since we thought he might return, Dale took cage and squirrel to Ellsworth and released it into the woods. Good thing we caught it....rat trap was next on the agenda. Last resort.... But I refuse to live with a squirrel!
